Stryke's Scoop July 2021

Hacking financial success and figuring out what's next...

Second Half June Highlights

  • Joined Urban Land Institute

    • Having a passion for sustainable development, I decided to begin taking classes and networking with people who are doing just that!

  • Began recording episodes for REdefi

    • Aiding my brother, the REdefi podcast seeks to find new models that are bringing innovation to the real estate industry, primarily through decentralized finance and blockchain.

  • Meeting People & Networking

    • Having finally settled down in my apartment, I have met a number of great people over the past month. I've also begun networking within the large real estate sphere here in Denver.

The Go-Giver by Bob Burg

Key Takeaways

  1. Your true worth is determined by how much more you give in value than you take in payment.

  2. Your income is determined by how many people you serve & how well you serve them.

  3. Your influence is determined by how you prioritize the problems of others.

  4. The most valuable gift you can offer is yourself.

  5. The key to being an effective giver is to be an effective receiver.

I've started writing better summaries for all my books, which can be found under my Resources tab. Read the full summary of The Go-Giver here.

Struggles

  • Turning down job offers. I didn't think I'd be in the position to do this after not having a job immediately after graduation, but after going through multiple interview processes, I figured that none of the job offers in front of me were going to get me to my desired outcome.

Shoutouts

  • David Saad – I don't think I can even encapsulate the amount of thanks in store. Aside from making a million awesome introductions, thank you for spending the time to just be a sounding board and provide vital input.

  • Pam Narowski – Thank you for being awesome. I love sharing ideas and figuring out new ways to hack the system. More fun to come!

  • Grandma & Grandpa – thank you both for hosting the whole family on the retreat! I hope you guys enjoyed all the food we cooked! I had so much fun - can't wait to do it again.

Closing Thoughts

  • I am ready to go!

  • There is abundant opportunity and so many different ways of tapping into "success," I am excited to see what the next month has in store.
