Double or Nothing: Week 2

I'm starting to lean a little more towards nothing. I am up $2 dollars. Granted, if I could compound that 2% increase every two weeks throughout the year (about 1% a week), I would end up with a hefty 62% return.

But that's not my goal, now is it? NO! Long story short, I am failing my own challenge. You may be asking yourself, "How can this be??" (lol).

Where I'm at

I think there are a couple reasons for my performance (or lack thereof):

1. I am not available at key trading hours during the market session

I am, at the end of the day, a full time student. I also happen to be working two jobs, one of which has meetings that runs the span of pre market to post market open. This makes it difficult to capitalize on any small adjustments that may happen during those crucial market hours.

2. I am not being attentive

I will not lie, I'm slacking a little bit. I have become distracted with school and work, which has consequently detracted from my financial performance.

Plans for change

Welp, this week I plan on taking a gamble, liquidating everything in the portfolio and going all in on one of two companies (maybe divvy it up between the two): Zoom and Tesla. Both obviously high market cap tech giants, but I have a small incline that with the upcoming earnings for both companies, there is going to be some movement. Obviously Tesla has been one of the most volatile stocks of the past year and has consistently delivered at earnings, causing them to be the best performer of 2020. The question is: can they do it again? It seems like the consensus is yes, so ya know - why not gamble a little bit? As for Zoom, they too have had an insanely strong year, and after doing a deep dive into their financials (for class), it seems like a no brainer. They've begun an insatiable appetite in their users (especially at the corporate level) that will make it very difficult for large institutions to switch video communication platforms, so even though there has been an intrusion of competitors, it seems as though Zoom will continue to rule the market.

Trades

Literally unchanged since last week (sorry - I'm imperfect).
